Textbook: 
Al-Kitaab, plus Jordanian dialect materials (Please bring your own al-Kitaab; Jordanian dialect materials will be given to students in Amman).
 
Additional outside events - especially weekend excursions to Wadi Rum, Petra, Jerash, and other sites - will allow opportunities for informal language practice with local Jordanians.

PROGRAM DETAILS: 
NU's Arabic Language and Cultural Engagement Program offers an intensive language study and immersion experience in Amman, Jordan.Applicants MUST have completed AT LEAST ONE SEMESTER of Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) by the start of the program. Students will take a placement test in Jordan to determine their course level.

Students will study colloquial Arabic and fus’Ha (MSA) with the highly respected Qasid Institute(link is external), and live in apartments walking distance from Qasid.

We plan to visit a US-Jordanian military camp, tour deserts, go snorkeling in Aqaba, and meet U.S. officials.

All Project GO programs provide funding for:
Tuition/fees
Room and Board
Travel to/from study location

Insurance
Visa

The following costs will not be included in Project GO Funding: personal spending money, personal travel, costs for obtaining a passport, medication, and expenses for dependents.

Please Note: Project GO participants planning to travel abroad MUST have a valid U.S. passport in their possession no later than 90 days before anticipated travel date. Many destinations require student visas, which take additional processing time. For further information, visit our FAQs.
