Program Description:
Semester in Galapagos

Spend 3 months on the world-famous Galapagos Islands, taking classes in evolution, ecology, and conservation, marine ecology, and politics. Classes are specially designed for study abroad students, allowing you to get multiple courses of credit in a specific major.

Start your semester with three weeks in the historical and lively Andean capital of Quito. Then fly to one of the most widely known destinations and UNESCO Heritage sites in the world: The Galapagos.

Make the Galapagos your classroom and learn about some of the most rare and researched marine wildlife in the world! You’ll choose from three academic focuses in the biological and social sciences, with all courses taught in English.
  • One of a kind – Live among exotic wildlife and diverse ecosystems on the Galapagos Islands, named a UNESCO Heritage Site while immersing yourself in Ecuadorean culture.

  • Hands on academics - Turn Ecuador into your classroom while taking advanced courses in marine ecology, environmental science, sustainable development, and more!

  • La Vida Local – You’ll have the opportunity to visit either the Tiputini Biodiversity Station in the Amazon, Ecuadorian highlands, a cloud forest, and the coast. You’ll see everything that the beautiful country has to offer.
