Experience Galway

Galway offers a small-town and university feel, as well as easy access to the landscapes traditionally associated with Ireland, including the Cliffs of Moher, Connemara, and the Aran Islands. The Irish language thrives amongst the Connemara locals who still speak Irish as their native tongue. The creative arts flourish throughout this bohemian city, with music, theatrical production, and literature all contributing to Galway's considerable appeal.

Nicknamed "Ireland's Cultural Heart," Galway offers students the ideal opportunity to explore traditional, vibrant, Irish culture through festivals, celebrations, and events. Galway hosts a number of exciting festivals, such as the Galway Arts Festival in July -- which draws more than 150,000 people for an international celebration of performance and visual arts -- , as well as the famous Galway Races in August, and the Galway International Oyster Festival in September.
