The Arcadia University Center for Italian Studies (AUCIS) was established in direct collaboration with one of Rome's most dynamic and innovative universities, Università degli Studi Roma Tre. American students will have the unique opportunity to interact directly with the university and general community. All courses are taught in classrooms of Università degli Studi Roma Tre, and many will have both Arcadia and university students taking them.
New Business Concentration at Arcadia in Rome
In response to numerous requests for a program abroad which would serve international business students, Arcadia has developed a business concentration at Arcadia Center for Italian Studies (AUCIS). The courses offered in the Business Concentration will take full advantage of the Rome location, linking the course material wherever possible to the Italian and European experience. All students will be required to study Italian language for 4 semester hours of credit. Italian language is taught in small groups with students who are at your same level – introductory, intermediate or advanced. You will find your mastery of the Italian language increases daily, as you interact with the people and places you are learning about in the classroom.
Regardless of the specific concentration you choose, all students are required to study Italian language (4 semester hours of credit) and complete your curriculum with four additional three-credit courses taught in English. You will find your proficiency in Italian language will improve daily as you interact with the people, sites, and treasures that you are learning about in the classroom.

The Arcadia Advantage
Upon arrival in Rome, you will be met by our resident director, Tina Rocchio, who will introduce you to your new home and provide you with a comprehensive orientation program. During the first week you will move into the housing which Arcadia has pre-arranged for you. All students enrolling in the Arcadia Rome program will be expected to attend orientation. At this time, academic contracts are signed, expectations are established, basic cultural differences are explained, and practical matters such as internet access, cell phone service, banking, health and safety, rules of conduct, housing issues and emergency contact information are discussed.
