Study at Durham University
Program
As the third oldest university in England, Durham boasts an academic tradition dating back a thousand years. Durham consistently receives top ratings from many university guides in the areas of academics and student satisfaction, and has one of the highest proportions of graduates continuing on to advanced studies in the UK.
The academic year at Durham is divided into three, 11-week terms. Teaching is provided by lectures and seminars, supplemented by tutorials. Academic resources, such as libraries and laboratories, are available to all students.
With opportunities for interdisciplinary study in the Faculties of Arts, Science, Social Science, and a Business school, Durham offers something for everyone. You will enroll in 3-4 courses per term for a total of 36 credits for the academic year.

Before you go, you can contact our program manager for advice on the application process, choosing courses, or simply what you should pack. Once you arrive, our resident director will lead an orientation program in London that will introduce you to the culture, history and politics of
England as well as prepare you for the academic challenges of studying in a different educational system. During the semester, you can expect to participate in excursions that are designed to allow you to reflect on the learning that is taking place outside the classroom.
