Vienna Summer - Intensive Music Performance: For Vocalists and Collaborative Pianists

Program Overview

Developed for serious vocalists and collaborative pianists, the Intensive Music Performance Program allows you to spend three weeks improving your performance skills while living in the historic city of Vienna. The purpose of your time abroad and the primary goal of the program is to approach performance from multiple perspectives: technique, interpretation, expression, language, and style.

As part of the program, you receive music lessons and dramatic interpretation coaching in individual lessons and small groups. The small group sessions provide an interactive format for performance and analysis of the process of interpretation. Group sessions give teachers an important perspective on your skills and how you perform under pressure, enabling them to identify issues that can be addressed in individual sessions. In addition, guest lectures give you insight into the lives and work of professional musicians.

You also take a course on German diction and on language used in rehearsals.
