Dublin January Term - Acting: Intensive Conservatory Training

Program Overview

Dublin J-Term Acting

Dublin's lively theatre scene dates to the mid-17th century when plays were produced at Smock Alley Theatre, on the south bank of the River Liffey. This theatre has been redeveloped on its original site, with state-of-the-art performance spaces, and now serves as home to the Gaiety School of Acting - National Theatre School of Ireland, where you'll enroll.

Join Ireland's theatre tradition at Smock Alley and explore plays from ancient Greece to present-day Ireland. Your training investigates the theatrical elements of space, the body, language, and the dramatic text to support your development in the craft of performance.

Why Dublin?

Your journey begins in the cultural center (and the heart) of Ireland: Dublin. Just think, you'll be studying in the City of Literature that's home to such literary greats as George Bernard Shaw, Oscar Wilde, William Butler Yeats, and Samuel Beckett! Stroll around Dublin to see how the historic architecture blends with modern design. Enjoy the energetic music scene and lively theatre. And when you need to get away, you'll discover outdoor adventures just a short train or bus ride away.
