Photography in Prague

This is a program for photographers who want to develop their craft in the beautiful and artistically vibrant city of Prague. They take courses at the renowned Film and Television School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU), and enjoy exceptional amounts of individualized attention from FAMU faculty mentors. Focus is on analog techniques and darkroom developing. Students exhibit their work at a local gallery or café at the end of the semester. The program is open to students with academic background in photography.

Study Abroad in Prague, Czech Republic: Features

  • Based at FAMU, the Film and Television School of the Performing Arts in Prague
  • Focus on analog photography (large and medium format) and use of the darkroom.
  • Advanced students can use alternative processes such as palladium and platinum.
  • Lighting seminar with instruction for using studio lighting and photo models.
  • Courses taught in English. There is no language prerequisite.
  • Previous photography experience is required. Students use their own 35mm camera.Hands-on practice using your own 35mm camera.
