Film Production in Prague

CET is one of the only study abroad programs that offers students the chance to create their own films using traditional media: 16mm or 35mm. The program offers a unique documentary track for students interested in using digital. CET Film is based at one of the world’s finest film academies, FAMU, the Film and Television School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. Students work closely with faculty mentors and participate in all aspects of filmmaking, from start to finish—directing, cinematography, casting, screenwriting, producing and editing.

Study Abroad in Prague, Czech Republic: Features

  • Based at FAMU, the Film and Television School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
  • Students choose their medium: 16mm, 35mm (for advanced students in the fall), digital (for documentary students in the fall).
  • Collaboration in small groups with Czech students, international students and CET peers.
  • Courses taught in English. There is no language prerequisite.
  • Previous film experience is strongly encouraged in fall & spring.
  • No experience necessary for summer.
